Uta Note Terms of Use (Alpha)
Last updated: October 9, 2026
These terms are an agreement between you and Juan Duran ("we", "us"). By using Uta Note you agree to them and to our Privacy Policy. Both are linked in the app (on the sign-in screen and in the Library) and published at https://utanoteapp.com/terms and https://utanoteapp.com/privacy. If you don't agree, don't use the app.
1. Alpha software, provided as is
Uta Note is an early test version. It may have bugs, change without notice, lose data, or stop working. It is provided "as is" and "as available", without warranties of any kind, to the extent the law allows. To the extent the law allows, we aren't liable for any loss that comes from using the alpha.
The analyses and explanations are generated by AI and can be wrong, including readings, translations and grammar notes. Use them as a study aid, not as an authority.
2. Your lyrics
- Only paste lyrics you have the right to use for your own personal study.
- Keep them private. Uta Note has no sharing or publishing features; don't use it to copy or distribute lyrics to others.
- You keep any rights you have in what you paste. You let us store and process it, including sending lyric lines to our AI provider, only to run the app for you.
- We may remove content if we're told it infringes someone's rights. To report it, email support@utanoteapp.com.
3. Acceptable use
Don't:
- try to access other people's accounts or data, or test, attack or overload the service;
- get around the free-song limit or other limits, for example by scripting requests or creating many accounts;
- use the AI features for anything other than studying your songs, try to make them produce harmful content, or try to extract their instructions;
- copy, resell or reverse engineer the service;
- break the law, or the usage policies of our AI provider (Anthropic).
4. Free tier, limits and Pro
- A free account can analyze 3 songs. A song uses one of the 3 the first time it's analyzed, and deleting it doesn't give that one back.
- Fair-use limits also apply, such as a cap on AI requests per minute, on analyses and "Why?" explanations per song, 300 lines per song, and 2,000 saved words. We may change these limits.
- Pro (unlimited songs) is not for sale during the alpha. Alpha testers who need more than 3 songs can email support@utanoteapp.com to ask for Pro access for free during the alpha.
- Features, limits, plans and prices may change before or after launch. Paid plans, if offered later, will be sold through the App Store under Apple's purchase rules and any extra terms we publish then.
5. Your account
- You need a working email address to sign in. Keep that email account secure: anyone who can read it can get a sign-in code.
- You must be at least 13 to use Uta Note.
- You can delete your account at any time in the app: Library → Delete account. This deletes your account and data; some provider logs and backups are kept briefly (see the Privacy Policy).
- We may suspend or delete an account that breaks these terms. We may also end the alpha or shut the service down; when we can, we'll email testers at least 7 days first.
6. Apple
If you got Uta Note through TestFlight or the App Store, Apple's terms also apply. Apple isn't responsible for the app or its content. Apple's standard Licensed Application End User License Agreement applies alongside these terms.
7. Changes to these terms
We may update these terms. We'll change the date at the top and email testers about significant changes. If you keep using the app after a change, you accept the new terms.
8. Governing law
These terms are governed by the laws of the State of California, United States.
